IPOs, corporate financing and private equity management participation programs, these are the main topics of the consulting firm Blättchen & Partner based in Munich.
We talked to Prof. Dr. Alexander Götz, he is Senior Partner.

CONSULTING.de: Prof. Götz, if you have to present the core competence of your company in one sentence, what is that sentence?
Alexander Götz: “The boss cooks himself”, the partners not only manage the projects but are also their “clerks”. This ensures Senior Level Advice throughout the entire project and with regard to all aspects.
CONSULTING.de: Whether IPOs or capital increases, you serve a demand that fluctuates. Ten years after the Lehman crash: how were these ten years for your company in retrospect?
Alexander Götz: The capital market practice naturally had its challenges. However, we are also the market leader in Germany in advising management
teams when it comes to their management participation programs offered by private equity companies. In addition, we act as compensation consultants to listed companies. This has enabled us to compensate for the rather cyclical capital market business in recent years.
CONSULTING.de: Where and when did the nucleus of Blättchen & Partner emerge?
Alexander Götz: In 1985, we advised the owners on the IPO of Hugo Boss, that was the beginning.
CONSULTING.de: If you are looking for personnel, what can you promise the applicants? And what can you score with?
Alexander Götz: Flat hierarchy, wide range of tasks, high degree of freedom.
CONSULTING.com: Your topics are very complex, the responsibility high. How long do university graduates have to prove themselves with you before they are allowed to look after the customer alone?
Alexander Götz: According to our Senior Level Advice approach, only partners look after the clients. The colleagues support the partners and of course have customer contact.
CONSULTING.de: Many thanks for the interview!
